Admission Notification for Ph.D. Programme in Humanities and Social Sciences

Applications are invited online from UGC NET and NET – LS qualified candidates for the admission to the Ph.D. Programme of Presidency University in Humanities and Social Sciences Departments for the session 2018-2019. The last date of application is 20th May, 2018. Interested candidates are instructed to visit the official website www.presiuniv.ac.in for details.
Candidates for admission to the Ph.D. program should have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% of marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade.
A relaxation of 5% of marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B as per UGC Guidelines.
All eligible candidates will have to mandatorily appear at an interview / test, conducted by the respective Departmental Ph.D./Doctoral Committee of the University. The candidates will be expected to discuss their research interests in the interview. The final list of selected candidates (with their areas of research interest(s)) will be published in the official website of the University.
Candidates selected for the Ph.D. Programme will be initially offered provisional admission till they complete all necessary formalities and submit the non-refundable enrolment fees and necessary documents, as applicable.
