Essential Qualifications
Proficiency, Spoken & Written in the medium ( English ) of instruction in this University
For the post of Professor
- An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned /allied /relevant discipline with published work of high standard, actively engaged in research.
- A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university / college and / or experience of research at University / national level institutions / industries.
- Proven ability to guide research.
- Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process.

A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based on Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), set out in the Regulation
UGC Regulation, 2010. [See 2(d)].
OR
An outstanding scholar or professional with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to knowledge in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline as evident from his/her credentials.
For the post of Assistant Professor
- Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject.

National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification conducted by the UGC (CSIR) or similar test accredited by the UGC like NET / SLET. However,
(a) Candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or its equivalent from universities outside India shall be exempted from the requirement.
(b) NET / SLET / SET shall also not be required for such Masters programme in disciplines for which NET / SLET / SET is not conducted.
A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master's level for the Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / OBC (Category A & B) / Differently-abled (Physically, visually and differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility marks of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace mark procedures. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master's Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.

Scale of Pay
- Professor: Rs.37,400 -Rs.67,000/- + AGP Rs.10, 000/-
- Assistant Professor: Rs.15, 600 – Rs.39,100/- + AGP Rs.6, 000/-
Scales of Pay and other admissible allowances are as per State Government Orders.
" For each faculty member of Presidency University , additional funds will be available for research and professional development "
Note
- Appointments will be made on probation for one year which may be waived or extended in exceptional cases and will be guided by the rules as framed and / or amended from time to time. During or at the end of the period of probation, the services of the concerned teacher may be terminated with one month notice or with one month's salary in lieu thereof, without assigning any reasons thereof. On satisfactory completion of the probationary period the concerned incumbent will be considered for confirmation of service. Stipulation in respect of Experience and Age may be relaxed by the authority in case of exceptionally brilliant candidates on recommendation of relevant selection committee. The selection of Professor and Assistant Professor need not necessarily be confined only to those who formally apply.

- Photocopies of all testimonials & certificates must be submitted at the time of interview (If called) for assistant professor.
- The same to be submitted when intimated for the post of professor.
- The originals will be required for necessary verification.
