The Unveiling of the Foundation Stone of the Second Campus
The 6th of February 2014 was a historic day for Presidency University. The Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, unveiled the foundation stone of the second campus of Presidency at Rajarhat. Also present were the Hon'ble Education Minister, the Secretary for Education, Chairman of the Presidency Mentor Group and the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Presidency University. The event was celebrated with performances by the university choir led by Dr Nirmalya Guha.
This historic event marks the beginning of new research and pedagogical possibilities in the university, and as the Chief Minister proposed, across the world even. The Vice Chancellor expressed her confidence in the diverse and young Presidency faculty and said that the second campus was a major stepping-stone towards excelling beyond global standards and building on our reputation of 'National Eminence' by 2017, when Presidency will complete its bicentenary.
