DIGITAL HUMANITIES WORKSHOP 2013

Following the first-ever DH conference in India organised by us in 2012, the Department of English, Presidency University welcomes you to 'Digital Humanities Workshop 2013: Remediating Texts and Contexts'. This year, we have three eminent experts presenting on a range of aspects of the field. This year's speakers are Dr Elizabeth Losh (University of California, San Diego), Prof Amlan Dasgupta (Jadavpur University) and Dr Shiladitya Chaudhury (Auburn University, Alabama).

The workshop will start at 10:30 a.m and will consist of three papers followed by a Q+A session. The venue is the A.J.C Bose auditorium on the ground floor of the Main Building. All are welcome.

  • The Harendra Lal Basak Memorial Lectures delivered by Professor Julian B. Lethbridge of University Tübingen and Dr Stefanie Chistiane Lethbridge of Universität Feiburg on 28 and 29 August 2012.
  • International conference on Digital Humanities in India held on 24 and 25 December, 2012.   • The Department organized its first Winter Lecture series, featuring eminent scholars from India and abroad. The list includes: Professor P P Raveendran of Mahatma Gandhi University, Dr Kathryn Caccavaio of Niagara County Community College, Dr Amrita Sen of Oklahoma City University, USA, Professor Michael Franklin of Swansea University and Professor Caroline Franklin of Swansea University.
