A Walk-in Interview on 24th March, 2020 for a JRF Position at the Department of Life Sciences, Presidency University, Kolkata Dated:24.02.2020
In view of the notice by The Registrar, Presidency University (No.PU/Admin/UR/2020/03/14/01, dated 14-03-2020) the following Walk-in Interview on 24th March, 2020 for a JRF Position at the Department of Life Sciences, Presidency University, Kolkata has been postponed till further notice.
Applications are invited for a JRF position under DST-SERB project (Principal Investigator: Dr. Sumit Mandal, Project Title: ‘Synergistic effect of climate change mediated ocean acidification and warming on physiological responses in some economically important shellfishes of West Bengal" ’ funded by DST-SERB, Government of India.
Date of interview: 24.03.2020 at 3 p.m.
Place of interview: Department of Life Sciences (Erstwhile Zoology Section, 2nd Floor, Bakers Building), Presidency University (Erstwhile Presidency College), 86/1, College Street, Kolkata-700073, India.
Post: One JRF
Project Duration: ~3 years
Fellowship: 31000/- per month + HRA (as per university norms & DST-SERB guidelines) for JRF position. Progress of the project work will be evaluated after two years by appropriate committee following DST-SERB project guideline. Based on their recommendation, JRF may be upgraded to SRF (for last one year).
Essential Qualification:
First class M.Sc. Degree or equivalent in Life Sciences/ Biological Sciences/ Zoology/Marine Sciences/Marine Biology/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology from recognized university and must have qualified UGC/CSIR-NET with own fellowship or at least NET (LS). Preference will be given to the candidate with at least 1 year research experience in Marine Biology or handling aquatic animals’ related work.

The original degree certificates, certificates (NET) and mark sheets are to be presented before the Selection Committee on the day of interview.
3. Thesis/ project report and publications (if any)
4. Proof of date of birth
The original certificates and mark sheets are to be presented before the Selection Committee on the day of the interview. Applicants arriving 30 minutes after the schedule time of interview shall not be called for the same. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
