Applications are invited for the position of One Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a WBDSTBT-funded research project under the guidance of Dr. Sarifa Khatun, Department of Geology, Presidency University, Kolkata.

Date and Venue of Interview: 2 ^nd August 2024, in physical mode at the Department of Geology, Presidency University, Kolkata-700073

Tenure:The position is available for three years/ termination of the project, whichever is earlier. The appointment will be subjected to an annual review for further extension that will be granted based on the research progress and accomplishments. The post is purely temporary and subject to the availability of annual funds.

Project Title: ‘Geochemical Investigation of the Bankura Anorthosite (West Bengal): Prospect for PGE, Ni, V, and Ti’.

Principal Investigator:Dr. Sarifa Khatun

Fellowship (to be governed as per WBDSTBT norm): Rs 25,000 per month (consolidated) (1 ^st & 2 ^nd year) and Rs 30,000 per month (consolidated) (3rd year).

Essential qualification:M.Sc. Degree in Geology and Applied Geology from a recognized university. Knowledge in igneous petrology, ore geology, and geochemistry.

Desirable qualification: Applicants having a valid rank in CSIR/UGC­-NET JRF/LS Examination and/or at least 1 year of research experience in the geological field and geochemistry-related research work will be given preference.
