Advertisement inviting applications for the position of JRF in DST-SERB funded Project at the Department of Geology   Date: 05/01/2024

Applications are invited for the position of One Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in DST-SERB funded research project under the guidance of Dr. Arnab Sain, Department of Geology, Presidency University, Kolkata.

Tenure:The position is available for three years/ termination of the project, whichever is earlier. The appointment will be subjected to an annual review for further extension that will be granted based on the research progress and accomplishments. The post is purely temporary and subject to the availability of annual funds.

Project Title: A Structural and Petro-geochemical appraisal of giant quartz veins of the Bundelkhand Craton, India: finding the link between regional deformation and fluid-rock interaction

Principal Investigator:Dr. Arnab Sain

Fellowship (to be governed as per SERB DST norms): Rs 31,000 per month + 24% HRA = Rs. 38,440 per month (1 ^st & 2 ^nd year) and Rs 35,000 per month + 24% HRA = Rs. 43,400 per month (3rd year).

Essential qualification:M.Sc. Degree in Geology and Applied Geology from a recognized university. Knowledge in structural geology, and geochemistry.

Desirable qualification: Applicants having a valid rank in CSIR/UGC­-NET JRF/LS Examination and/or at least 1-year research experience in the geological field and fluid-inclusion/remote sensing related research work will be given preference.
