Advertisement Inviting Applications for A JRF Position for an ANRF Funded Project at Cancer Proteo-Genomics Lab, Department of Life Sciences (DLS), Presidency University, Kolkata   Date: 25/06/2026

Applications are invited from highly motivated and eligible Indian citizens for the position of Junior Research Fellow for an ANRF, Govt. of India sponsored research project entitled “TUNING THE MOLECULAR CLOCK IN PAEDIATRIC LEUKAEMIA- TRANSLATING CHRONOTHERAPY FROM BENCH TO BEDSIDE" [Project number: ANRF/IRG/2025/000925/LS]”, under the supervision of Dr. SUTAPA SAHA (Principal Investigator, Department of Life Sciences, Presidency University, Kolkata).

Date, Time, and Venue of Interview:3 ^rd July, 2026, from 11:00 AM onwards; Department of Life Sciences, Presidency University, 86/1 College Street, Kolkata-700073, India.

Application process: The candidate must email (i) their current CV including their contact number (ii) a 1000-word research statement including any past research experience and motivation for this project (iii) Name, email id, and phone number of at least one academic referee, who can provide feedback on their academic background, (iv) scanned copies of their mark sheets/certificates (class 10 onwards) and (v) a Government-issued photo identity proof in a single PDF file (name the file e.g. ANRF_JRF_Name of candidate) to the PI (sutapa.dbs@presiuniv.ac.in) latest by 1 ^st July, 2026 . Minimum Educational Qualifications Required:

(i) M.Sc. or equivalent in any discipline of Life Sciences (Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Genetics/Botany/Zoology/Physiology etc.) with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA (6.0). (ii) NET/GATE qualification.

The following qualifications are desirable but not mandatory:

a) Previous research experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques.

b) Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Enrolling for Ph.D.: The selected candidate may be allowed to enrol for Ph.D. program as per university rules and subject to satisfactory performance.

Duration of project:Three years

Tenure of Assignment:Two years, subject to the availability of funds by the funding agency.

Fellowship/Salary:Rs. 37000 + 30% HRA = Rs. 48,100 per month

Note:

1. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

3. Students should provide the original certificates and mark sheets in support of educational qualifications at the time of joining for verification.
