A Walk-in-Interview will be held for the appointment of one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the DST (Govt. of India) sponsored Project on 31/03/2016 (Thursday) at 12:00 noon in the Department of Biological Sciences (Biochemistry Section), Presidency University, 86/1, College Street, Kolkata-700073 under the guidance of Dr. Sanghamitra Dey (Principal Investigator), Department of Biological Sciences, Presidency University.

Project detail: “Molecular Mechanisms of rice sirtuin activity under oxidative stress conditions” (Total Duration- 3 years, depending on fund and satisfactory research progress)
Funding agency: Department of Science & Technology (DST)
Essential Qualification:
(i) M.Sc . in any branch of life Sciences with minimum 60% marks in B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree obtained from an UGC affiliated college or recognized University.
(ii)NET/GATE qualified (CSIR – UGC National Eligibility Test (JRF or LS)/ Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Admission/ Biotechnology Eligibility Test & Test conducted in Bioinformatics by Bioinformatics National Consortium/ DAE - JEST & JGEEBILS, NBHM/ ICMR – JRF Entrance Examination/ ICAR - Test conducted by ICAR for admission to PhD program/ DoP- GPAT)
Desirable Qualification : Research experience in Molecular biology and Protein Biochemistry, some experience in handling plants
Amount of Fellowship: Rs. 25,000 plus HRA for the first two years and Rs. 28,000 plus HRA for the third year.
Age limit: As per DST rules
Applicants should report at least 30 minutes before the schedule time of interview & submit two copies of the following documents:
1. Signed application in plain paper with photo addressed to the PI
2. Latest CV along with attested copies of all relevant testimonials
3. Thesis/ project report and publications (if any)
No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview. The original certificates and mark sheets are to be presented before the Selection Committee on the day of interview.
