Bishal Diyali
Assistant Professor
About-
My research interest lies in the statistical inference and lifetime model selection. Currently I am working in the areas of degradation processes and one shot devices and very actively collaborating in interdisciplinary subjects as well. My teaching interests lies in sample survey, SQC, index numbers, order statistics, reliability theory and survival analysis.
Qualifications+
BSc (Hons) Statistics (Visva Bharati, 2015)
MSc Statistics (Visva Bharati, 2017)
PhD Statistics (Central University of Haryana, 2025)
Biography+
My doctoral work at Central University of Haryana was on the study of appropriate lifetime model selection in the presence of censoring. We mostly worked with the distributions exhibiting the unimodal hazard rate funtion including various inverted distributions for type I, type II and hybrid censoring schemes.
Research / Administrative Experience+
My research is primarily in the area of reliabity and life testing experiments with focus on statistical inferences and model selection and currently I am working to expand my research interest by exploring other ares within and outside reliabilty like one shot devices, order statistics and model misspecifiactions.
Teaching / Other Experience+
My teaching career started during my PhD in Central University of Haryana. I taught R practical classes to various PG batches for 3+ years where I took classes on Introduction to R, Multivariate Ananlysis in R and Sampling. After submitting my thesis I got appointed in Haldia Institute of Technology as assistant professor in Mathematics where I worked for just over a year and took classes on C programming, R programming, Mathematics I and Statistics and Probabilty for AIML and Data Science. I also worked in Sree Dattha Group of Institutions in Hyderabad for 2 months and took classes on Matrices and Calculus, Numerical Methods and Comples Analysis.
