Dr. Nusrat Jahan, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, Presidency University.
She has a specialization in Logic. Presently she is pursuing research in an area of Philosophical Logic. Apart from Logic she also has a keen interest in certain areas of Applied Ethics, Environmental ethics. She also takes interest in certain areas of Indian and Western Philosophy, as well as Contemporary Philosophy, Kant's Critique of Pure Reason and Philosophy of Psychology. She has been associated with Hooghly Mohsin College and Bidhannagar College as Assistant Professor, where she was a member of various academic and administrative committees. She has also been the Head of the Department of Philosophy at Presidency University and Hooghly Mohsin College.
She has been conferred with numerous awards and Honours like:

2. Ramuttam Bhabataram Santosh Kumar Bhattacharjee Award for securing highest marks in M.A. in University of Calcutta in the first publication of result.
3. Anil Chandra Gupta Memorial Studentship for securing highest marks in M.A., Part-I course in University of Calcutta in the first publication of result.
4. Pramoda Sundari Dey Studentship for securing highest marks in M.A., Part-I course in University of Calcutta in the first publication of result.

Her core area of teaching is Logic, which includes Symbolic logic, Philosophical Logic, Quantified logic-Quantification theory: multiple general propositions, the logic of relations, identity, definite description; logic of W. V. O. Quine, Patrick Suppes, Richard Jeffrey, Bertrand Russell, C.I. Lewis, Anderson and Belnap etc. She is also interested in teaching modal logic, Bertrand Russell’s Principia Mathematica, Geoffrey Hunter’s meta-logic and other advanced areas of logic. Apart from this she also teaches Philosophy of Psychology, Contemporary Philosophy, Indian Philosophy, Ethics, Practical Ethics, Environmental Ethics, Western Epistemology, Kant's Critique of Pure Reason and the like.
