Krishna Gopal Ghosh
Assistant Professor
About-
During school days I was asked to get the School Atlas, later on I received the Encyclopedia of Geography as a reward which have many colourful illustrations and photographs. These two books sparked my interest to know places, landscapes and people. In the succeeding years my teachers, elders and friends have supported me in each step for the choices I’ve made over the years.
As an academic I love to teach and pursue research. My teaching interests mainly center on different branches of Physical Geography. Fluvial Geomorphology and Environmental Geography is my specialisation and my current research interest includes:
Fluvial Geomorphology: Fluvial sediment transport and deposition: Processes and morphology
Surface Water Hydrology: Flood hydrology, Hydro-meteorology
Environmental Geography: Air pollution research, Environmental economics

Research / Administrative Experience+
My research interests focus primarily on fluvial geomorphology and surface water hydrology. In particular, I am interested to address stream channel and watershed response to environmental change (whether the change is generated by natural or anthropogenic causes). Currently, I am focusing on the channel processes, sediment load transport, reservoir and flood plain sedimentation.
