Manoranjan Prasad Sing
Assistant Professor
About-
I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy, dedicated to the exploration and teaching of Indian philosophy, and Ethics. My scholarly pursuits and expertise extend to Indian Logic, Contemporary Indian Philosophy, Medical Ethics, and the Philosophy of Peace and Conflict Studies. Through my work, I strive to deepen the understanding of these philosophical domains, contributing to the academic community with rigorous research and engaging teaching methodologies.
My journey in academia began with a passion for Indian philosophy, which led me to delve into the intricacies of Nyaya and Vaisesika systems. These classical schools of thought have shaped my approach to logic and epistemology, allowing me to draw connections between ancient philosophy and contemporary issues. My interest in Medical Ethics and the Philosophy of Peace and Conflict Studies reflects my commitment to applying philosophical principles to real-world challenges, fostering ethical awareness and conflict resolution strategies.
Before my current role at Presidency University, I enriched my teaching experience as an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Hiralal Mazumdar Memorial College for Women in Dakshineswar, Kolkata. From October 2016 to July 2018, I had the privilege of guiding students in their philosophical education, promoting critical thinking, and nurturing love for philosophy. This period was instrumental in honing my pedagogical skills and deepening my understanding of the diverse philosophical landscape.
I remain dedicated to advancing the field of philosophy through continuous research, innovative teaching, and active engagement with both the academic community and broader society.
