A significant part of the cultural history of South Asia is embedded within rich traditions of performing arts that are oral, embodied and intergenerational. Such a repertoire of performing arts, if archived and studied, can open up an alternative understanding of history of the sub-continent and can help make sense of how culture is shaped in the present. This course will facilitate young cultural learners to engage with multifarious ideas of archives in relation to traditions of performing arts in South Asia and thereby to understand how to create digital archives with the help of new age technology and digital tools.It will be taught by international and national experts and organizations working in the field of arts and culture. This training programme will enable participants to -

1. Understand archives of performing arts in South Asia in relation to folk traditions, embodied practices, material culture, sound, smell, memory, history and curation

2. Obtain skill-based training to create digital archived with the help of tools like AI, virtual reality and cutting- edge software and others

3. To find expanded scope of employability in different cultural and art sectors for emerging digital archivists working in the field of Performing Arts in South Asia
