Course Objective:

This course aims to impart basic knowledge of Persian language and grammar. The students will be trained in learning grammar, building vocabulary and practising conversation. The course aims at enabling the students to directly access sources of historical importance in original Persian language. This course also assists the students in pursuing career options and opportunities in the field of translation. After completing this course, students will be able to understand the importance of learning the Persian language for the study of and research on Persian texts and to seek career options in the field of translation and language studies.

· Introduction: History of Persian Language and Literature and its Importance for Historical Studies and Career Opportunities

• Alphabets and Formation of Words
• Basic Grammar and Translation
• Conversation and Composition
