Experiences of Conflict, Gender and Transnational Justice: South Asia and Beyond
Mahanirban Calcutta Research Group (MCRG) and Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) are jointly organizing an International Conference on Gender, Empowerment and Conflict in South Asia on 6 to 8 November 2014.
The Conference has two public events.
On November 6, there is a panel discussion on Women in Peace: Men’s Voices to be held at the Academy of Fine Arts from 6 to 8 p.m.
On November 7, there is a roundtable conference on Experiences of Conflict, Gender and Transnational Justice: South Asia and Beyond to be held at the Presidency University from 4 to 6 p.m. Noted scholars like Nergis Canefe, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, York University; Beatriz Eugenia Sanchez Mojica, Assistant Professor, Universidad de Los Andes Bogotá, Colombia; Roberto Vidal, Director, Law School Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Colombia; Åshild Kolås, Research Professor, Peace Research Institute Oslo; and Kalpana Kannabiran, Director, Council for Social Development, Hyderabad will attend the session. The event will take place at the Presidency University and it will be chaired by Anuradha Lohia, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of the University.
