Internship Program
Presidency University Library is pleased to introduce an internship program to equip students from diverse disciplines with knowledge and expertise in academic library operations, collection management, library tools, and modern information services, thereby supporting their academic and professional development.
1. Eligibility
I. Internship for students of Presidency University
a. Undergraduate or Post Graduate Students of the University may apply for the program.
b. The application should be forwarded by the competent authority of the department/ University.
II. Internship for students of other universities
a. Students pursuing BLIS, MLIS, or equivalent professional library science programs from recognized universities, colleges, or institutions are eligible for the program.
b. The request for pursuing internship program should be forwarded by the competent authority of the concerned department / university.
2. Selection of Interns
I. The competent authority of the university will deliberate on the matter after receiving the applications through proper channel.
3. Duration of Internship
I. The internship duration may be six to eight weeks / as per NEP 2020 mandate/ as decided by the Competent Authority of the University.
- Working hours will align with library operating hours, unless otherwise specified.
4. Internship Fees
A nominal fee may be collected from the external candidates applied for the internship.
5. Evaluation & Certification
- Interns will be assessed based on regular performance, punctuality, completion of assigned tasks, and adherence to work ethics.
- A Certificate of Completion or evaluation report will be issued upon:
- Completion of the required internship duration.
- Positive assessment from the supervisor.
