Presidency University

    • 2010

    • Mentor Group formed with Professor Amartya Sen as Advisor to the Chair.

    • 2012

    • University holds First Convocation on 22nd August.

    • 2014

    • Third Convocation held on 22nd August 2015. Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee lays the foundation stone for the University’s third campus at The Himalayan Centre of Presidency University (3rd Campus) at Dow Hill, Kurseong.

    • 2016

    • The state government passes the Presidency University Bill on 19th March. Presidency College becomes an autonomous university.

    • 2011

    • In December, UGC recognises Presidency University as an Institution of National Eminence.

    • 2013

    • Chief Minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee lays the Foundation Stone for the University’s second campus at Rajarhat on February 6.

    • 2015

    • Professor Amartya Sen awarded D.Litt. (Honoris Causa) at Special Convocation on 20th January.
