Giving to Presidency

The legacy of Presidency University goes back 200 years, and its current buildings and infrastructure to more than 150 years in some cases. As we celebrate with a range of projects and events the bicentenary of the institution that started life in 1817 as Hindoo College, we also need to renovate and restore the campus.

Presidency has been world-class as a College. The infrastructure for teaching and research has to match that proud legacy while preparing us for a future to be shared with the most advanced centres of learning in world. New laboratories, libraries, classrooms, auditoriums, conference facilities, communication network and work-spaces need to be built, and the old ones refurbished.

We have put together a set of plans for improvement and renovation that we must complete within 2017 to put Presidency where it rightfully belongs—the international high table of universities. Like all academic, cultural and public institutions, a university needs the citizens’ initiatives, the support of alumni and alumnae, and the generosity of individual and corporate benefactors to flourish.

We appeal to alumni, civic bodies, public and other institutions to lend a hand in helping us achieve our dreams.

All donations made to Presidency University are deductible under Section 80G(2)(a)(iiif) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
