Under the auspices of the Bicentennial Celebrations, Presidency University brings to you its very first national level economics summit, ARTHATANTRA on 12^th and 13^th January.

Arthatantra is being organised under the Global Education Summit and it promises to be the most exciting student event of the summit. We shall be having challenging competitions which will test and hone your economics, finance and policy making skills. We are inviting participation from across the country. We are envisaging Arthatantra to be a truly national level economics summit, where students can meet, compete and explore the diverse annals of economics and policymaking.

Arthatantra will be graced by eminent economists, academicians, bankers, policymakers and industrialists who will be addressing and debating some of the key economic questions of our time.

The sanskrit word “Tantra” literally means science. “Artha Tantra” is the science of wealth creation. We decided to call Presidency University’s maiden Economics Summit Arthatantra because our aim is to create wealth. We hope that once this event is over, our minds are rejuvenated with ideas and the wealth that we have accumulated from our experience helps us in our future endeavours, so that we can spread a little bit of what we have received, around us.

So here’s to positive externalities! Join us and be a part of Arthatantra!

Prof. Pranab Bardhan, Professor of Graduate School at the Department of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley.
Prof. Amit Bhaduri, Professor Emeritus at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
